In 2015, Marc Jacobs uploaded a video of himself and Kate Moss to Instagram. Sitting on a deck chair, they shift their legs in unison, boldly addressing each and every subscriber with the words “you are simple”: they play the 2012 opus of YouTuber Lohantoni “Calling All the Basic Bitches”. Having supported their fashion capital for the better part of 30 years, the duo may have earned the right to display their snobbery – and they’ve just reunited to make a similar statement, with Moss starring in a Jacobs Resort ad campaign dressed as Kiki. Boots, monogrammed jeans and fringed cargo skirts.

It is the result of years of friendship between the model and the designer, who first worked together on the Jacobs grunge collection for Perry Ellis, which was teased by the press at the time but is now widely regarded as a turning point in today’s fashion world.
